I was always a bit of a health nut growing up. I was always conscious of what I ate and how it affected my body. But when it came to fats, I was a bit lost. I knew that some fats were good for you and some were bad, but I didn’t know how to tell the difference.
That all changed when I started doing research on healthy fats. I learned that there are different types of fats, and each type has its own benefits and drawbacks. I also learned that some fats are better for you than others.
The first type of fat I learned about was monounsaturated fats. These are found in foods like olive oil, avocados, and nuts. Monounsaturated fats are considered to be the healthiest type of fat because they can help lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease.
The next type of fat I learned about was polyunsaturated fats. These are found in foods like fish, seeds, and vegetable oils. Polyunsaturated fats are also considered to be healthy because they can help reduce inflammation and improve blood cholesterol levels.
The last type of fat I learned about was saturated fats. These are found in foods like red meat, butter, and cheese. Saturated fats are not considered to be healthy because they can raise cholesterol levels and increase the risk of heart disease.
Now that I know the different types of fats, I can make better decisions about what I eat. I try to focus on eating foods that are high in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, and limit my intake of saturated fats. I also make sure to read food labels so I can make sure I’m getting the right kind of fats.
By learning about healthy fats, I’m now able to make better choices when it comes to my diet. I’m also able to enjoy the foods I love without worrying about the health risks associated with unhealthy fats. Choosing healthy fats has made a huge difference in my overall health and wellbeing.
